Just realized today that in my precious
Sony Vaio SZ3XP, there is a dead pixel. I never had a dead pixel in my monitors, nor I have seen one. I thought that there was no way back. I had heard loads of horror stories with monitors having dead pixels out of the box. And yes, warranty does not cover a few dead pixels.
However, thanks to the authors of
this post, i managed to fix it. The method to follow is straight-forward:
- Get one of these pens from your drawer.
- Locate the dead pixel
- Carefully apply pressure on the pixel (you will see a white glow under the point of contrast)
- Continue this for 5-6 times till the pixel heals itself.
For the last time no, you cannot hold me responsible for damage you caused by using this method. Always a pleasure :)
